Our History
After owning horses for several years and experiencing the growth and healing they provided them and their daughters, Brian and Sandy Ballenger felt a calling in 2004 to use their  small horse farm to encourage, support, and mentor children with varying life challenges. In the fall of 2007, they built an indoor riding arena, and under the name "Jordan's Crossing" began offering year-round riding lessons free of charge to children in the community. As Jordan's Crossing grew, so did the needs and experiences of the children it benefitted. Jordan's Crossing became a weekly refuge for children struggling to manage disorders such as ADD and ODD, as well as those struggling with negative life experiences like bullying, divorce, trauma or abuse.

In January 2017, the organization expanded to include adult riders and riders with physical challenges. Along with these new services came a new name, Brighter Path, and the organization of the entity as a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Organization, operating as a 509(a)(2) Public Charity.
